We real cool & Outsiders comparison

The article I connected to the Outsiders was We Real Cool. This poem is about a group of teenagers in a gang who are risk takers everyday, including their life being At risk. These teens talk about acting like an adult, and being careless about their life because they know that their life can be taken at any moment. One piece of evidence that connects to The Outsiders is In the second stanza “We strike straight”, is referring to hitting the pool ball hard but there's nothing bad about a game of pool. To me this can also refer and speak towards fighting, hitting someone hard like a pool ball etc. This is apart of their normal lifestyle. This connects to the outsiders because the Greasers  are rivals with the Socs which most of the time leads to violence. For example when the Greasers and Socs had a huge fight against each other and the Greasers ended up winning. Another example is when Ponyboy and Johnny were hurt and approached by the Socs in result to Ponyboy getting drowned in a fountain and Jonny killing the guy who was hurting Ponyboy. This shows that both The Greasers and the gang in the poem have to go through rough times, violence, and more in their everyday lives. My second connection to the outsiders from the poem is In stanza 4 it says “We jazz June” this seems like something is rising to a Climax and it can lead to or follow dangerous actions into death or harm. This is what being in a gang is apart of, taking life risks and careless. Why I think this line in specific has a connection and a common thing is because the Greasers is a gang just like the poem is about a gang. In the outsiders members of the Greasers die, and that comes to show that it does take risk and life changing changes when you are in a gang. All of them getting into fighting, attempting or being attempted in hurting someone or being hurt forever etc. Both of these different book and poem have that common aspect in not being scared of death, knowing what can happen, or what they go into. The Outsiders and the poem all go through very similar lifestyles and obstacles. They both risk their lives, and are very violent, but will always stay together as a gang because that's who they trust and will always go with. These 2 sources have strong connections and are very powerful in different perspectives.

Milk & Honey

Milk and Honey is about a process, but more in specific a progress and obstacle of hurt, love, breaking, and healing. This book is more mature & you really have to get and understand the message it is trying to say. It is a strong female leadership book, but some people can relate to it because it talks about real life things that can happen. Each section of the book is in a sequence of how it would actually be in someone's feelings. It makes you look at love, life, and yourself & others in a different perspective. This book shows the journey of being a women, but some parts being rough not relating to what everyone goes through. So far this is my favorite book. It really makes you think.
